Abstract: Mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) play an essential role in response to a variety of stresses in plants. This paper reviews the recent progresses in the basic constitutions, categories, elicitors and two possible mechanisms of plant MAPKs. It also introduces several important experimental methods developed in this field, including kinase activity measurement, immune-precipitation, yeast two-hybrid, gene mutant, RNA interference and a new method-networks modules.
