Abstract: In this paper, the halophytes which can be irrigitated with sea water are inumerated together with their habits, habitats, distributions, photosynthetic paths, salt_tolerance level and economic uses. The halophytes of this category include 168 species that belong to 32 families. There are over 60 halophytic species of families such as the Cymodoaceae, Otamogetonaceae, Hydrochariaceae etc. that can also grow with sea water salinity, yet are not listed in this paper since they are not known to have economic uses.
