Abstract: Pollen grain adhesion, germination and pollen tube growth were observed in intergeneric crosses between ten taxa and Ogu CMS.The pol len grains of Crambe abyssinica hardly adhered to the stigma of Og u CMS. Observations made within 48 h showed that the pollen tubes of Rorippa dubia(Pers.) Hara, Orychophragmus violaceus var. lasiocarpus Migo, Cheriranthus cheiri L.and Crambe abyssisca were obstructed and callose plugs formed in sporoderm at the start of pollen germination. The pollen tubes of Descurainia sophia(L.) Webb. ex Prantl, Matthiola incana(L.) R. Br.and Capsella bursa_pastoris(L.) Medic grew but failed to penetrate the papilla cells. The pollen tubes of Eruca sativa Mill. var. sativa penetrated the papilla cells, but did not penetrate the stigma. The pollen tubes of Brassica campestris huibai’ and Raphanus sativus L.var raphanistroides(Makino) Makino entered the stigmata and styles but did not penetrate the embryo sacs.
