Abstract: This study showed that there are no significant differences in dry weight, water contents, soluble sugar contents, chlorophyll contents, carotenoid contents, protein contents, protein electrophoresis, photosynthetic rate, respiration rate and activities of superoxide dismutase between normal plantlets and tissue_cultured plantlets of Aloe vera L. var. chinensis (Haw.) Berg. It proves that the technique of plant tissue culture is an effective means of rapidreproduction of Aloe vera L.var. chinensis (Haw.) Berg.
