Abstract: Drought and soil salinity are the most important environmental factors that affects the normal growth of crop plants. In order to expound the effects of transgene expression on the drought resistance and salt tolerance of plants, here we reviewed the results of production of transgenic plants which overexpressed some low_molecular_weight compounds and osmoprotective proteins reported in recent years.
