Abstract: This paper briefly presents the progress of study on the relationship between plant nutrition and drought resistance of crops in recent 30 years, and emphatically discusses the effects of three necessary macro_nutrition ─ nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium on drought resistance in crops. The results show that through a series of biological and biochemical mechanisms such as, water regulation, osmotic regulation, stoma regulation, photosynthesis regulation and so on, these nutrition_elements can raise the activity of metabolism and also drought resistance of crops. Some important aspects concerning these issues are discussed.
