Abstract: The antiinsect genetic engineering of plants provides a new way of controlling crop pests. In this paper, the progress of antiinsect genetic engineering of plants is reviewed, which includes the insect-resistance genes having been transferred into crop plants, the measures for improving the expression of insectresistance genes and the strategies of preventing or delaying the development of insect resistance in transgenic plants. In addition, problems to be overcome in antiinsect genetic engineering are suggested.
