Abstract: Molybdenum is an essential element of higher plants. Its deficiency results in special symptoms. Molybdenum enzymes, including nitrate reductase, aldehyde oxidase, xanthine dehydrogenase, sulfite oxidase are all involved in various metabolisms and biological functions in higher plants. The synthesis pathway of its key component molybdenum cofacter was also suggested.
