Abstract: Advances in recent years in degradation metabolism of chlorophyll during plant leaf senescence were introduced, including the separation, assay and nomenclature of chlorophyll degradation products, chlorophyll degradation pathway and degradation enzymes. In addition, the significance of chlorphyll degradation and research trend were discussed.
