Abstract: The leaflet epidermal characters of thirteen species of Cycas in China were comparatively analysised. Based on the resemblance of stomata and cuticle characters, C. pectinata, C. panzhihuaensis, C. taitungensis, C. revoluta were assigned in one group, which possess stomata Type II (with elongated stomatal margin cells, more than 10 accessory cells), and other nine species in another group, which possess stomata Type I (with normal stomatal margin cells, about 7 accessory cells). Our result also told the difference of stomata between C. taitungensis and C. taiwaniana.
