Abstract: Germplasm of Carthamus tinctorius identified as BJ-26, and found in Xiapu, a county in Fujian Province of eastern China, showed seed dormancy at the time of harvest. A similar experiment of BJ-26 using freshly harvested seeds and seeds stored for seven to eight years gave average germinating time of 114.8 and 65.8 hours respectively.
