Abstract: To overcome the limitations of glass slices used in botany experimental teaching, we made glass slices into digital slices by full automatic microscope scanning and created a database of digital slices. The application of digital slices combined with the digital microscopy interactive system in botany experimental teaching can improve teaching efficiency and quality and also favor developing students’ self-study abilities and experiment skills. This improvement can promote the classification management and sustainable use of teaching resources. These results effectively promote the reformation of botany experiment teaching. For experimental botany teaching, introducing the digital slice production process, application and shortcomings can help integrate modern ways with traditional teaching techniques and methods.
