Abstract: Transporting of ions across plasma membrane is an important process of nutrient acquisition for plant not only at cell level but also at tissue and organ levels. In this paper, we summarized the research advances on the gene cloning, sequence and structure analysis, function identification，expression and regulation of the ion transporting proteins and focused on their functions in the process of absorption, distribution and translocation of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and other nutrients in Arabidopsis thaliana. 
