From an overview of proposals funded from 2010 to 2015 by the discipline of botany in the Department of Life Sciences, National Natural Science Foundation of China, this article presents a statistical analysis of all programs, including a summary of the funding profile in the discipline, the character of each project category, the distribution of projects in different subdisciplines and research areas, and information on the top awarded institutions. This information provides a prospective trend of development in the field of botany.
