Abstract: This paper deals with plant regeneration from leaf calli of Paulownia tomentosa, P. australis, P. fortunei, P. elongata and P.tomentosa×P.fortunei, which proliferated on MS basic medium with 18 combinations of NAA and 6_BA concentrations. The results indicates that those media which can best induce bud from leaf calli of the above five varieties are MS+0.3 NAA+12BA, MS+0.3NAA+12BA, MS+0.5 NAA+12BA, MS+0.5NAA+12BA and MS+0.7NAA+12BA respectively. Then the buds of the above five varieties were placed on media to induce roots, and the best media are 1/2 MS+0.1 NAA, 1/2 MS+0.1NAA, 1/2 MS,1/2 MS+0.3NAA and 1/2 MS+0.5NAA respectively. These results will assist the breeding of new vareities from different kinds of Paulowuia protoplasts.
