Abstract: Tomato and cucumber are both nutritious and delicious vegetables, which are widely cultivated in the world. Recently, Chinese scientists have made breakthrough advances toward our understanding on the molecular mechanisms of how tomato was domesticated and how bitterness was regulated in cucumber.
