Abstract: This paper introduces the main features of morphological, biological characteristics and cultivation of 21 species of 4 genera of the cycads conserved ex situ in China. The economic values of these species are also discussed. Suggestions for expanding the protected areas and study for utilization of the cycads are put forward.
