Abstract: The experiments were conducted with pollen grains of rape and maize, the element distribution in internal and external parts of pollen grains obtained by scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive X_ray analysis indicated that the composition of 14 elements such as Fe、Zn、Si、Al、Ca、P、S、Mg、K、Cl、Cu、Mn、Co and Ni differed greatly in different positions of the pollen grains. The Fe could not be detected in germinant colpus area of the two kinds of pollen, but t he relative contents of Fe in non_germinant colpus area was 1.12%~3.68%. The contents of Si, Ca, K, Cl etc. in the pollen wall were more than in pollen protoplasm. This paper provided an information for utilization and exploitation of nectariferious plants pollen.
