Abstract: The strength and length of cotton fibers are important parameters for determining fiber quality in the textile industry.Fiber development is a highly programmed process, a large number of genes involved. In this review, we will discuss morphological, biochemical and physiological features of fiber cells, highlighting recent studies in the expression and regulation of the isolated cotton genes during various stages of fiber development.
