Abstract: To provide reliable information for research into germplasm resources and physiological ecology of Poaceae plants in Hainan, we used paraffin sections to distinguish Poaceae plants that use the C3 and C4 photosynthetic pathways by anatomical structure. We collected 224 species of 82 genera for analysis: 189 species used the C4 pathway and 35 the C3 pathway, for 84% and 16%, respectively, of the total Poaceae plants collected. C4 Poaceae pasture resources are abundant in Hainan.
