Abstract: Plants interact with a wide range of microbes in the environment. Some of these microbes are pathogenic and represent a formidable threat to the ecosystem and agricultural productivity, whereas others are beneficial and stimulate plant growth. In recent years, Chinese scientists have made considerable advances in the field, catching up to their international peers. Here we summarize four major research articles Chinese researchers published in 2017, which may serve as a window to the future of plant-microbe interactions research in China.
